Herschel Walker: I will hurt him

A couple of days ago, I reported that roid-fiend Jose Canseco called out Herschel Walker. Earlier today on BobandDan.com, Herschel had this to say:

“Canseco wanted to fight me, and what’s strange about it is that what I do is not a circus, not going in there playing trying to make money. My money went to Pastor Evans at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. All my proceeds went there. I didn’t get into this to make money, I got into it for the competition. Jose is doing this for the money and my thing is, if he wants to fight me and thinks it’s going to be a circus, I will hurt him. This is not a joke, I will hurt him. I don’t do things as a joke [or] as entertainment. When we go out there and play a flag football game, that’s entertainment, that’s having fun. But this MMA fighting is real, you can get hurt and he doesn’t understand this. I’m doing this as a fighter, not as a joke.”

Jose Canseco calls out Herschel Walker

JoseCansecoTwitter

Jesus Christ. As revolting as it is for me to post this, I feel that I have to. First off, Jose is capitalizing letters that shouldn’t be capitalized. Thus proving me that he really is just a idiotic jock. Or as Snooki from “Jersey Shore” would say, a “juice-head”.

Rex Ryan @ Strikeforce Miami

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything, but I thought I would start back things by talking about the New York Jets’ coach Rex Ryan appearing at the Strikeforce Miami event this past weekend.

A reader emailed The Miami Herald a picture of Rex Ryan flipping off some fans. According to the email, the recipients of Rex’s middle finger identified themselves as Miami Dolphins fans.  Let me think, a few bottles of beer and then you see your football team’s rival head coach.. yeah, those fans probably deserved the finger.

Liddell: Talks Kimbo, Training, & Fighting

Chuck Liddell is back in the gym after his reality television stint on Dancing With The Stars. According to his chat with Sherdog Radio Network’s “Savage Dog Show”, “The Iceman” still wants to fight in the UFC even after getting knocked out in his last two fights.

“We’re still talking, so we’ll see. I still love fighting. I don’t know what we’re going to come up with. I’m going to start spending a lot of time training guys or get back in there –- one of the two”

After being knocked out by “Shogun” Rua, UFC president Dana White, who is also Liddell’s former manager, came into the Octagon and announced Liddell’s retirement. We haven’t seen or heard anything about him except for his Dancing competition.

BJ Penn: I’d Love To See Kimbo Champ

“Who would have thought the WWE champion would be the UFC champion? You never know what can happen in the fight game. I’d love to see it happen, it’s a long shot but I’d love to see it.”

The above quote is from UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn when the champion was speaking with the The Sun (based out of the UK). Essentially, it’ll happen. Why would it not? It’s pretty well understood that Dana White likes to create fights that will make him, his organization, and his parenting company a lot of money.

UFC considering smaller Octagon

In response to a question during an interview with Yahoo! Sports, Dana White had this to say after being asked if WEC fighters would lose their edge if moved to a bigger cage like the UFC’s.

“Actually, we’ve been talking about making the Octagon smaller. We’re considering making it smaller. [UFC matchmaker] Joe Silva wants it. I think he wants to turn the thing into a [expletive] bathtub. Have them fight in a little tollbooth,” said Dana White.

What do you, the reader, think of this idea? Would it be a good move or a bad move? Personally, from a fighter’s view-point, I think it would mix it up and make more things interesting and a lot more entertaining in the UFC.

After win, what is next for Travis Lutter?

Former UFC vet and The Ultimate Fighter season 4 winner Travis Lutter achieves his first win against Jason MacDonald unanimously decided by the Maximum Fighting Championship judges. This marks his first professional win since being cut by the UFC after losing to both Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva.

Most remember Travis Lutter for one of two reasons, if not both: winning TUF season 4 by defeating Patrick Cote by submission and/or not making weight in what should have been his Middleweight championship fight against Silva.

Roy Nelson: Really?

I could probably interview Roy Nelson if I really wanted to, but I know I would criticize him for his actions on and off the mat when it comes down to his fight with Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson on last week’s episode of  TUF: Heavyweights.

Since beating Kimbo in the second round due to a TKO of strikes and basically smothering Kimbo (could we legally claim this as attempted murder?), Nelson has been all talk. Even Dana White has commented on the fact that Nelson thinks he did something greater than what actually took place.
